Just a Ride in the Park (Bike Your Park Day)

Celebrate Bike Your Park Day with a casual ride along the main park drive within Paynes Prairie.

This will be an easy ride on paved roads, suitable for all.  Children are welcome, but anyone under the age of 18 is required to wear a helmet.

We will meet at 9:00 AM in the Visitor Center parking lot.  This is located at the end of the main drive within the park entrance in Micanopy.  From there we will ride back down the main drive and turn onto Puggy Road.  We will follow Puggy Road to it's end at Lake Wauberg, where we can walk our bikes a short distance to the boardwalk and fishing pier to enjoy a nice view of the lake. After enjoying the view and hopefully seeing some native wildlife at the lake, we will ride back towards the ranger station where we can turn around and make our way back to the visitor center parking lot.  After our ride, take some time to walk to the Visitor Center where you can learn a little more about the park, watch a movie about the prairie, and enjoy vast views from the 50 foot observation tower. 

Participants are responsible for bringing their own bike, helmet, and water bottle.

Pets are not permitted on the ride.
