The Friends of Paynes Prairie has flourished, growing from fewer than 30 members in 2003 to over 500 in 2020.  With support from our members, Park facilities like signage, maps, water fountains and bike repair stations were sponsored by the Friends.

We are currently seeking volunteers who can help in the Visitor Center for morning or afternoon shifts Monday - Sunday.  We are looking for a few extra folks so that we can have an alternating or rotating schedule that supports plenty of flexibility for our volunteers as we understand weekends are a popular time for many other activities.
