Hike with a park ranger and learn about the unique history of this special area. History includes stories of early settlers, the second Seminole war, and steamboats that once crossed the prairie. This trail is named for a family of pioneer settlers, and is a beautiful, shady loop through hardwood hammock to a spur trail that takes you onto the prairie to a wildlife viewing platform. 2.5 miles round trip.

There may be muddy conditions on the spur trail.
