Board of Directors election.

See Meet Our Board of Directors for directors elected at the annual meeting to serve for the coming year.

Renovation construction begins.  Visitor Center Closed.

Contractors began reconstruction at the visitor center in September and the facility will be closed to

all access until further notice. Remainder of the Park, trails, campsite etc. remains open.

We are arranging temporary accommodation for the Visitor center, bookstore and visitor assistance services

and we will advise here when that facility is available.

Heart of the Prairie- fundraising appeal

Friends is raising $100,000 that we have matched for thecost of the Visitor Center renovation project.

With generous donations from members, the board and local businesses,

Friends has received donations and pledges totaling over $56,000, more than half of the $100,000 goal.

Additional outreach through social media, to the Gainesville business community and local foundations are

underway to secure the remainder.

Donors will be recognized at several levels with a plaque to be placed prominently in the renovated Visitors center.
