Celebrate National Public Lands Day by removing nonnative invasive plants that threaten Florida's natural ecosystems.

Participants will be working in a natural area of the park with our AmeriCorps members.  You will have the opportunity to experience a part of the park not usually open to the public.  Please be prepared to go off trail!

We will meet in the La Chua Trail parking lot at 9am and work until 11am. (Please note, the La Chua Trail is currently closed to the public, but we will be there to let you through the gate to the parking lot if you're participating in the plant removal event).

Participation is limited to 20 participants.  All ages welcome.  If you would like to participate, PLEASE RSVP on this website so that we can communicate with you if anything changes.

Please be prepared to work in outdoor conditions.  You will need closed toe shoes that you don't mind getting muddy, gloves, garden tools if you have them, sunblock, bug spray, and most importantly a water bottle.  We will provide bug spray, some work gloves, garbage bags and have an igloo of water to refill water bottles as needed, but please bring a reusable water bottle with you if you have one.

We recommend people wear long pants and work boots or rain boots if possible.
