Take 2! This event was so popular last summer that we are doing it again with some extra-added bonuses.

Enjoy an evening at the Paynes Prairie Visitor Center watching a humorous look at America's obsession with the lawn and the effect it has on our environment, wallets, and outlook on life. Gimme Green peers behind the curtain of the $40-billion industry that fuels our nation's largest irrigated crop - the lawn.

Isaac Brown and Eric Flagg spent a year and a half directing, shooting, and editing Gimme Green. The resulting 27-minute film earned both a Master's degree from University of Florida's Documentary Institute.

Gimme Green has won numerous awards and was featured at film festivals across the country. This will be the last time shown before premiering on national TV on The Sundance Channel's 'The Green'. Robert Redford hosts it!

Enjoy a forum with film makers, native plant options, plus wine & food.

During the event, learn about our GET NATIVE Ranger Station Landscaping, Florida's Yards and Neighborhoods, the Native Plant Society, Gainesville's Clean Water Partnership, and MORE. Plus FREE Waterwise books - through use of waterwise landscaping (based on the principles of Xeriscape), everyone can help conserve resources. Gimme Green DVDs will be available for purchase.
