Our Goals for 2010

Events:

1. Support Star Gazing at Hickory Ranch, Paynes Prairie
2. Support Sawgrass Festival
3. Hold the Annual Meeting in December
4. Support the Tom Walker Memorial 1/2 Marathon with the Florida Track Club

Programs:

1. Provide support to Ranger-led programs
2. Provide support to PPPSP for up to two Film Forum events
3. Support the La Chua Trail Interpretive Program

Outreach:

1. Provide information tables to activities, as requested and able
2. Keep website up-to-date
3. Participate in Literacy Month
4. Participate in 2 Chamber of Commerce events during the year
5. Publish a newsletter once each quarter

Projects:

1. Address Park Manager's Friends Project Priorites (as far as possible). Items not already listed include:
   • Install lighting along visitor center walkway for after hours events
   • Campground improvements - split rail fencing for sites
   • Initiate fundraising project to help purchase Marsh Master for resource management and emergency access
   • Continued resource management support through funding equipment and repairs
   • Continued cracker horse care and interpretation support
2. Support the Visitor Center, Old Florida Heritage Highway Grant Application
3. Support volunteer resource management programs by sponsoring the Sweetwater Branch clean-up, and providing supplies and equipment for exotics removal and native plantings
4. Support pavement remediation program on Gainesville-Hawthorne Trail
5. Grow Endowment Fund to $25K by EOY
6. Renew job descriptions for Officers and Directors
7. Develop a succession plan for Officers and Directors
8. Activate a Membership Development program to maintain membership above 300
9. Hold a Planning Meeting near EOY to evaluate performance vs. goals
